## Synopsis

This Fool (2022-2023) is a US Hulu comedy created by Chris Estrada, Pat Bishop and Matt Ingebretson, produced under ABC Signature. Chris Estrada stars as Julio Lopez, a big-hearted man in South Central Los Angeles who goes out of his way to help nearly everyone except himself. His drive to improve his neighborhood keeps colliding with the demands of his family, particularly his brother Luis (Frankie Quiñones) and his sister Esperanza (Laura Patalano), whose needs he cannot stop answering. Julio's efforts run into local obstacles and his own codependent habits, and each episode builds its comedy from everyday neighborhood errands, family friction and well-meant schemes that backfire. The series runs for two seasons of ten episodes each in a half-hour format, with a scrappy, character-driven tone that balances warmth and sharp, irreverent humor. Its working-class Latino community setting gives the comedy a grounded texture. Viewers who enjoy Gentefied and the sincere, neighborhood-rooted comedy of Atlanta will find a similar resonance here, even as the show's cancellation leaves its story unfinished.
