## Synopsis

Alarm for Cobra 11: The Motorway Police (1996-present) is a German action procedural series created by Hermann Joha and Claude Cueni for RTL, running for fifty seasons and 387 episodes. Erdoğan Atalay plays highway police officer Semir Gerkhan, paired with Daniel Roesner as Paul Renner in the early seasons, while Katja Woywood, Charlotte Schwab and Carina Wiese appear in the wider team. The engine of the show is the partnership of two officers who race across Germany's motorways to stop criminals, with each episode built around a self-contained case that ends in a chase, a crash or a confrontation. Originally set in Berlin and later moving to North Rhine-Westphalia, the series unfolds in a contemporary German landscape of highways, service stations and city streets. Its tone is brisk and kinetic, with propulsive action sequences balanced by camaraderie between colleagues. Its format is episodic and seasonal, rather than a single continuing story, and its long run has made it a fixture of German television. Fans of CHiPs, Hawaii Five-0 and the German Tatort tradition will find resonance in its blend of cop partnership and weekly case-driven action.
