## Synopsis

Big Boys (2022-2025) is a British comedy-drama series created by Jack Rooke for Channel 4. Loosely based on Rooke's own experiences, it follows Jack (Dylan Llewellyn), a sharp, anxious first-year student who meets Danny (Jon Pointing), a brash and cheerfully unfiltered fellow fresher, during freshers' week at Brent University. Their mismatched friendship becomes the engine of the show as the two boys navigate parties, dating, sexual discovery, and the messy business of growing up. Jack's mother Peggy (Camille Coduri) and the wider cast add weight to the family and home life that keeps pulling at him. Across three seasons of six short episodes each, the series moves between awkward set pieces and quieter moments of grief and mental health, all delivered with a candid, self-deprecating humour. Set in contemporary London and the surrounding campus life, the show is built on sitcom rhythms but carries real emotional stakes. Its tone is warm, frank and sometimes raw, with a sincere devotion to male friendship. Fans of Skins, Heartstopper and Fleabag will find resonance in its blend of comedy, queer coming of age and tender honesty. Its ending settles the friendship arc with a bittersweet sense of growing apart and staying close.
