## Synopsis

The Brigade (2023-present) is a French crime series created by Jérémie Guez and Erwan Augoyard for Canal+. Sofian Khammes plays Saïd, who leads a team of young elite cops and must find his place within the group while keeping a gang war from erupting between Éric Perez (Vincent Elbaz) and the El Hassani brothers. Ophélie Bau plays Vanessa, Théo Christine plays Socrate, and Emmanuelle Devos plays Commissaire Ferracci, with Bruno Todeschini and Nina Meurisse rounding out the principal cast. The engine of the show is tension between squad loyalty and street loyalty, as officers navigate rival families, informants, and rising violence in a restless urban milieu. Its episodes build a continuing story across two seasons of eight episodes each, with the pressure of an impending gang conflict driving each installment forward. Set in contemporary France, the series carries a gritty, tense register, with flashes of camaraderie and moral strain. Fans of Engrenages, The Shield and Narcos will find resonance in its blend of police procedure, ensemble loyalty and simmering criminal violence.
