## Synopsis

Borgen - Power & Glory (2022) is a Danish national-television political drama series created by Adam Price for DR1. Its single eight-episode season follows Foreign Minister Birgitte Nyborg, played by Sidse Babett Knudsen, whose career is jeopardized when a dispute over oil in Greenland threatens to become an international crisis. Around her, Katrine Fønsmark (Birgitte Hjort Sørensen) and Torben Friis (Søren Malling) represent the pressures of rival alliances, media scrutiny and the cold arithmetic of coalition politics. Each episode is built from negotiations, press conferences, parliamentary maneuvering and tense private confrontations, with the protagonist forced to weigh her principles against the demands of power. The series is a serialized prestige drama in the tradition of Nordic political television, set in contemporary Denmark with its story reaching into Greenland and the Arctic. Its tone is measured, tense and morally weighted, with a sober, intimate register rather than action spectacle. Fans of Borgen, The West Wing and The Thick of It will find resonance in its portrait of ambition, diplomacy and the cost of staying honest in high office.
