## Synopsis

The Imperfects (2022) is a Canadian science fiction action drama created by Dennis Heaton and Shelley Eriksen for Netflix. Dr. Sydney Burke (Italia Ricci) leads a group of young adults remade as monsters by an experimental gene therapy, alongside Tilda Weber (Morgan Taylor Campbell), Abbi Singh (Rhianna Jagpal), and Juan Ruiz (Iñaki Godoy). Their engine is a determined hunt for the scientist behind the procedure, with the goal of forcing him to make them human again. Each episode mixes pursuit, confrontation, and the physical strain of living with a body that no longer belongs to them. The series runs a single ten-episode season set in present-day Canada. Its tone is gritty and urgent, with a restless, angry edge and an emphasis on identity and loss. Viewers who enjoy Misfits, Heroes, and Orphan Black will find a similar mix of young outsiders, scientific menace, and genre-driven drama. The show was canceled after its first season, leaving its central quest unfinished.
