## Synopsis

The Future Of (2022) is an American documentary docuseries created for Netflix, a single season of twelve roughly twenty-minute episodes. Rather than following a cast of characters, it is hosted by a narrator voiced by Jurnee Smollett-Bell, who guides viewers through emerging technological trends while industry experts weigh in on what each development could mean. Each episode takes a single area of new technology and follows it toward plausible, even revolutionary, possibilities, balancing expert insight with concrete examples of how these tools might reshape work, health, communication and everyday life. The engine of the series is curiosity: each segment asks what happens if a promising innovation matures, and it answers with grounded optimism rather than dystopian warning. The tone is bright, accessible and forward-looking, with a hopeful sense that the future is something people can shape. Its structure is a standalone episode format, so viewers can dip into any topic in any order. Fans of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, Explained and Black Mirror will find resonance in its blend of accessible science, speculative imagination and sharp attention to how technology changes people's lives.
