## Synopsis

Sugar (2024-2026) is an American neo-noir private detective series created by Mark Protosevich for Apple TV. Colin Farrell stars as John Sugar, a dashing private eye who takes on missing person cases across sunny Los Angeles while hiding a secret too dangerous to expose. Kirby Howell-Baptiste plays Ruby, and Jin Ha plays Danny Moon, two principal figures whose lives tangle with Sugar's investigations. Each season is built around a central case that pulls him deeper into the city's shadowed corners, where bright boulevards and hidden affairs coexist. The show balances a mystery engine with an intimate study of a man who believes in the good in people even as his own past threatens to surface. Its tone is brooding and unsettling beneath a glossy surface, with a pervading sense of paranoia. Fans of Chinatown and True Detective will find resonance in its noir atmosphere, moral ambiguity, and patient unraveling of a secret. The series runs two seasons of eight episodes each, with a mature tone and a deliberately slow reveal.
