## Synopsis

Of Money and Blood (2023-2024) is a French national-television crime drama miniseries created by Xavier Giannoli, Frédéric Planchon and Jean-Baptiste Delafon for Canal+. Across twelve episodes, a Belleville crook circle led by Alain Fitoussi (Ramzy Bedia) joins forces with Jérôme Attias (Niels Schneider), a trader from the wealthy neighborhoods, in a scheme built around newly invented carbon quotas, a market created to fight global warming and then turned into a vehicle for enormous fraud. Standing in their way is Simon Weynachter (Vincent Lindon), an investigator whose relentless pursuit becomes an obsession. The engine of the show is the mechanics of the con: shell firms, forged paperwork and cash moving faster than anyone can track, while personal loyalties strain and greed ignites rivalries. Set in France and across Europe in 2008 and 2009, it is a single continuous story told in a tense, procedural register, with moral murk and rising stakes. Drawing on the investigative book by Fabrice Arfi, it is grounded and sharply observed, a crime saga for viewers who enjoy the financial heist and corruption thrillers of The Wolf of Wall Street and Margin Call, as well as the gritty French crime tradition of Braquo.
