## Synopsis

Strange Planet (2023) is an American adult animated comedy series created by Dan Harmon and Nathan W. Pyle for Apple TV. Adapted from Pyle's webcomic, it is a single-season, ten-episode run of roughly 23-minute episodes that follows a cast of alien beings going about ordinary life on a distant planet not unlike our own. Voiced by Tunde Adebimpe as a structural engineer, Demi Adejuyigbe as a curious kid, Danny Pudi as a regular being, Hannah Einbinder as a manager and Lori Tan Chinn as a guide, the characters navigate jobs, dating, friendship and the small indignities of routine. The engine is the gap between the strange anatomy and customs of these beings and the familiar emotional problems they face, with each episode built from brief observational vignettes rather than a single running plot. The show is deadpan and gently absurd, mixing wry narration with poignant moments about love and loneliness. Its tone is cozy and quirky, and its humor lands through understatement and sincerity. Fans of Rick and Morty, BoJack Horseman and Aqua Teen Hunger Force will find kinship in its mix of surreal invention and philosophical observation about everyday existence.
