## Synopsis

My Home Hero (2023) is a Japanese animated crime thriller series adapted from the manga of the same name, a single-season run of twelve 24-minute episodes produced for TOKYO MX and BS Nippon TV. An unassuming father becomes the target of a criminal organization after he kills his daughter's abusive boyfriend, who happens to be the son of a cold-blooded yakuza boss. The voice cast is led by Junichi Suwabe as Tetsuo Tosu, with Sayaka Ohara as Kasen Tosu, Chihiro Shirata as Reika Tosu, and Kent Ito as Kyoichi Majima. The engine of the story is a family man's struggle to keep a hidden body concealed while outmaneuvering gang members who close in with each episode. Each installment tightens the manhunt with cat-and-mouse escalation, grim domestic pressure, and sharp moral dilemmas about how far a parent should go to protect a child. The tone is tense and bleak, with a gritty urban criminal underworld that feels like a contemporary Japanese vein of the form. Fans of Breaking Bad and Ozark will find resonance in its quiet everyman transformation and the slow tightening of criminal danger around a family.
