## Synopsis

Sprung (2022) is an American comedy series created by Greg Garcia for Amazon Freevee. Garret Dillahunt plays Jack, a convicted criminal determined to rebuild his life after more than two decades behind bars, who is released unexpectedly during the pandemic with nowhere to go. Martha Plimpton plays Barb, and Shakira Barrera plays Gloria, two of the people who become part of the unusual household that forms as Jack shelters in place with former inmates including Phillip Garcia's Rooster and James Earl's Melvin. The engine of the show is the gap between their old skills and their new intentions: the group keeps finding that the expertise that once served crimes can be turned toward helping people who need it. Each episode is a self-contained caper-flavored comedy built around a small problem in a locked-down city, with a cozy, scrappy ensemble energy. The series ran for a single nine-episode season and was canceled, leaving its story unfinished. Its tone is warm, wry and gently irreverent, a light crime comedy in the spirit of Leverage and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, with the bonds of a found family driving the humor.
