## Synopsis

How To Build a Sex Room (2022) is a US reality series produced for Netflix, a single-season run of eight episodes of about 44 minutes each. Luxury interior designer Melanie Rose (Melanie Rose) guides couples through consultations about what they want from their bedrooms, then transforms their homes into stylish, purpose-built spaces where they can explore any fantasy they wish. The engine of each episode is the gap between a couple's private desires and the practical demands of a renovation, with Rose translating frank conversations into layouts, finishes and furnishings. Each episode follows one couple from first conversation through build to reveal, so the format is a self-contained case of the week rather than a continuing story. The tone is candid and playful, treating sexuality with openness and warmth rather than shock, and the production has a glossy, polished look typical of premium lifestyle design television. Viewers who enjoy home makeover programmes such as Queer Eye and Property Brothers, or the frank intimacy of Sex Box, will find the same mix of personal disclosure and design transformation here. The series is intended for adults, and its explicit subject matter is handled with an open, matter-of-fact approach throughout.
