## Synopsis

Oswald (2001-2003) is an American preschool animated series created by Dan Yaccarino for Nick Jr. Its title character is a blue octopus voiced by Fred Savage, who lives in a cheerful town with his hotdog-shaped dog Weenie, voiced by Debi Derryberry, and friends including Daisy the daisy (Crystal Scales) and Henry the penguin (David L. Lander). Across a single season of fifty-two episodes, each short adventure begins with a small everyday problem that the group works through together, so the engine of every story is simple cooperation and curiosity rather than conflict. The episodes are self-contained and can be watched in any order, making the show a light, easy entry point for young children. Its tone is warm, bright and gently whimsical, with colorful hand-drawn style animation and a comforting sense of community. Fans of Blue's Clues, Arthur and Bluey will find a similar pleasure in patient, friendly storytelling aimed at the very young. Production came through Nickelodeon Animation Studio and Hit Entertainment, and the series is rated TV-Y for gentle, age-appropriate play.
