## Synopsis

Tomo-chan Is a Girl! (2023) is a Japanese animated romantic comedy series created by Fumita Yanagida and produced by Lay-duce, Aniplex, Seikaisha and Crunchyroll. Tomo Aizawa (voiced by Rie Takahashi) is a tough, judo-trained tomboy in high school whose heart belongs to her childhood friend Junichiro Kubota (voiced by Kaito Ishikawa), a clueless classmate who only sees her as one of the guys. Her engine is simple and funny: every episode she tries another signal, another approach or another rival-tinged ploy to make him notice her cute side, and every attempt bounces off his thick head. Friends Misuzu Gundo (voiced by Rina Hidaka) and Carol Olston (voiced by Sally Amaki) fuel the mischief alongside the schoolyard scenes. The single thirteen-episode season runs as a brisk, gag-filled slice of life, with a warm, cozy, mildly sardonic tone built on embarrassment and affection. Fans of Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, Ranma ½ and Teasing Master Takagi-san will find resonance in its oblivious-crush comedy and its tomboy-meets-romance heart.
