## Synopsis

Fortune Seller: A TV Scam (2022) is an Italian true crime documentary miniseries created by Alessandro Garramone and released on Netflix. Across four episodes of roughly forty-five minutes each, the series traces the path of slimming cream saleswomen Wanna Marchi and Stefania Nobile, who built a bold television presence selling miracle weight loss products to viewers hungry for quick results. The engine of the story is the gap between their on-screen confidence and the vulnerable customers who paid for promises that could not be kept, and the unraveling of that operation as it becomes a legal matter. Principal figures appear as themselves in interviews, sharing their accounts alongside archival television footage, which gives each episode a tense, raw, reflective texture. The tone is sharp, cynical and sometimes uncomfortable, with a steady undercurrent of disbelief at how easily televised charisma can override common sense. Shape and scale are compact: a single season of four episodes that stays focused on one case from start to finish. Fans of Tiger King, The Dropout and Joe Exotic will find resonance in its portrait of charismatic hucksters, media spectacle and the human cost of deception.
