## Synopsis

No Longer Allowed in Another World (2024) is a Japanese animated isekai comedy series for AT-X, adapted from a manga and voiced by Hiroshi Kamiya as the melancholic writer Osamu Dazai. Osamu, a gloomy early twentieth-century author, is pulled into an otherworldly adventure where he is handed cute sidekicks and superpowers he never wanted. His goal is simple and grim: find a quiet place to meet his maker. Every attempt at a poetic end is derailed by inconvenient heroics, and the engine of each episode is that gap between his despair and the game-like fantasy world demanding he level up. Principal voice cast includes Rumi Okubo as Annette, Sayumi Suzushiro as Tama, and Makoto Koichi as Nir, whose companions keep pulling him back into battle. The twelve-episode run is a self-contained slice of life with a deadpan, darkly funny register, wistful and melancholic yet warm. Fans of KONOSUBA and Bungo Stray Dogs will find resonance in its satirical isekai irreverence and tragicomic literary protagonist. Its tone balances bleak self-regard against absurd adventure, making it a sharp, irreverent take on the reluctant chosen hero.
