## Synopsis

Tales of Wells Fargo (1957-1962) is a American network western drama created by Gene Reynolds for NBC, running six seasons and 201 half-hour episodes. Dale Robertson stars as Jim Hardie, a steadfast frontier man who lends his fists and his nerve to Wells Fargo agents trying to keep stagecoach routes and mining towns safe from outlaws and hard-bitten schemers. Each episode is largely self-contained, a case-of-the-week adventure in which Hardie confronts a new threat, with recurring agency business giving the run a steady backbone across its seasons. Guest players rotate through the stories, and the mood is plain-spoken and straightforward, leaning on rugged heroism, honest dealing and the pull of open country. Set in the nineteenth century American West, the show delivers the classic oater tradition of riding, rescue and showdown at a brisk pace. Its gentle, wholesome register and clear moral lines make it an easy fit for fans of Gunsmoke and Have Gun - Will Travel, and for viewers drawn to the vintage western adventure of The Lone Ranger.
