## Synopsis

High Heat (2022) is a Mexican telenovela-style crime drama miniseries created by José Ignacio Valenzuela and produced by Univision Studios for Netflix. Its protagonist Poncho, played by Iván Amozurrutia, is grieving his brother and follows the clues in that death to a city fire brigade, where he signs up to dig deeper. Working alongside the firefighters, he finds himself caught between romance, family loyalty and a serial killer hunt, with Eduardo Capetillo, Itatí Cantoral and Esmeralda Pimentel among the other principal players. The engine of the story is a double pull: the search for the truth behind a brother's murder and the risks of living inside a close-knit station where secrets and attractions run as hot as the blazes. Episodes are built around emotional confrontations, suspicion among colleagues, and the gradual tightening of the investigation, unfolding across a single 39-episode run of about 35 minutes each. The series is a limited series with a melodramatic register, mixing soap-opera intensity with suspense and a warm queer romance thread. Its tone is heated, sentimental and tense, and it will appeal to viewers who enjoy Latin American melodrama or the character-driven crime of Rescue Me and Rubí.
