## Synopsis

I Just Killed My Dad is a United States true crime docuseries released on Netflix in 2022, a three-episode miniseries of roughly 45 minutes each. It centers on Anthony Templet, who shot his father and never denied it, and the film-style interviews focus on him alongside his mother Teresa Thompson, his stepmother Susan Templet, his stepbrother Peyton Mannino, his grandmother Patricia Jenkins, and his defense attorney Jarrett Ambeau. The engine of the series is not whodunit but the question of why: each episode circles back through family memory, courtroom context, and Anthony's own account to probe the psychology that led to a single violent act. Its shape is a tightly bounded limited series, with testimony-style interviews stitched together into a portrait of a life under pressure. The tone is intimate, sober, and unsparing, with a reflective pace that lingers on the emotional aftermath rather than spectacle. Set in the United States and rooted in the events of June 2019, it lands for viewers who enjoy confessional true crime in the vein of The Jinx and The Staircase, and fans of Making a Murderer will find its courtroom-adjacent scrutiny familiar. Expect TV-MA content including graphic violence and disturbing imagery.
