## Synopsis

Belascoaran, PI (2022) is a Mexican crime drama miniseries created by Rodrigo Santos for Netflix. Luis Gerardo Méndez plays Héctor Belascoaran, a restless man who walks away from his corporate job and a stale marriage to set up as an independent detective in 1970s Mexico City. Irene Azuela plays his estranged family member Elisa Belascoaran, while Paulina Gaitán, Silverio Palacios and Enrique Arreola fill out the investigative circle. Across three feature-length episodes of roughly seventy-five minutes each, the story follows his cases as he pursues shocking crimes through a city of crowded streets, political undercurrents and shadowy institutions. The engine is simple and personal: a man with nothing left to lose chasing the truth when official channels will not. Its tone is gritty, melancholic and restless, with a noir sensibility grounded in the texture of the period. Fans of Narcos, Twin Peaks and Mare of Easttown will find resonance in its blend of procedural momentum and atmosphere.
