## Synopsis

Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs (1987-1988) is an American syndicated animated space western created for syndication. Its heroes are Saber Rider, voiced by Rob Paulsen, and his partner Fireball, voiced by Pat Fraley, members of an elite squad of frontier peacekeepers called the Star Sheriffs. Alongside them are April Eagle, voiced by Pat Musick, and Commander Eagle, voiced by Peter Cullen. Across a single season of 52 episodes, the team patrols humanity's far-future New Frontier, where colonists settle distant worlds under the protection of Earth's Cavalry Command. The engine of the show is a steady stream of threats from the Outriders, extra-dimensional invaders who want to conquer our dimension and enslave humanity with superior technology. Each episode is built around a self-contained mission in which the crew defends settlers using their wits, courage, and their transforming battleship, the Ramrod Equalizer Unit. The tone is brisk, earnest, and playfully heroic, with the sweeping vibe of a frontier Western translated into starships and laser battles. Fans of Cowboy Bebop, Voltron, and Firefly will find a similar blend of space adventure and cowboy spirit.
