## Synopsis

The Dangers in My Heart (2023-present) is a Japanese animated school comedy adapted from a manga, produced by Shin-Ei Animation and aired on TV Asahi and its affiliated stations. Kyotaro Ichikawa, voiced by Shun Horie, is a middle school boy stuck near the bottom of his class hierarchy who secretly imagines himself the brooding lead of a psychological thriller. His days are spent devising small schemes to unsettle his classmates while he pines after Anna Yamada, the class idol, voiced by Hina Youmiya, who turns out to be peculiar herself. Chihiro Kobayashi, voiced by Ayaka Asai, adds a further layer to the everyday school circle. The engine of each episode is the gap between Kyotaro's grandiose inner fantasies and his clumsy real-world attempts at romance, producing a cringe comedy that gradually softens into a sweet, tender story about two young people growing up. Its tone moves from awkward and self-conscious toward warm and hopeful. Fans of Komi Can't Communicate, Kaguya-sama: Love Is War and Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku will find the same blend of teen embarrassment and gentle romance here.
