## Synopsis

Good American Family (2025) is an American limited true story drama series created by Katie Robbins for Hulu. Ellen Pompeo plays Kristine Barnett and Mark Duplass plays Michael Barnett, a Midwestern couple who adopt a little girl with dwarfism, played by Imogen Faith Reid as Natalia Grace. What begins as an ordinary adoption becomes a slow engine of doubt, as the parents begin to question whether the child in their home is really who she says she is. Each of the eight episodes peels back another layer of household routine, family history, and outside pressure, with Sarayu Blue, Dulé Hill, and Christina Hendricks adding weight to the surrounding world. The series builds its unease through quiet domestic scenes that gradually turn suspicious, rather than through spectacle. Its tone is tense, unsettling, and grounded, with a dread that comes from trust eroding inside a family home. Fans of The Staircase, Sharp Objects, and The Act will find the same mix of true crime texture and intimate family disquiet. The narrative is a standalone story drawn from real events, so viewers should expect a contained, character-driven examination of how a family's private certainty can collapse.
