## Synopsis

Kaiju No. 8 (2024-present) is a Japanese anime series produced by Production I.G and khara, with its main broadcast on TV Tokyo, and it is a shonen action and science fiction series adapted from a manga. Kafka Hibino, a worker cleaning up the wreckage of giant monster battles in a city under constant kaiju attack, dreams of joining the Defense Force alongside his childhood friend Mina Ashiro, voiced by Asami Seto. His life changes when he meets Reno Ichikawa, voiced by Wataru Katoh, whose fierce determination to enlist reawakens Kafka's old promise. Kafka's secret is that he has himself been turned into a kaiju, and every episode pushes him to keep that hidden while fighting for humanity. Soshiro Hoshina, voiced by Kengo Kawanishi, adds a steady presence within the military ranks. The series moves through a mix of street-level workplace comedy, tense battle sequences, and warm camaraderie, with gore and monster carnage balanced against earnest friendship. Its shape is a continuing single-season story, with its first run of twenty-three episodes still open. Fans of Attack on Titan, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Godzilla will find resonance in its creature spectacle, its sense of duty, and its eager, heartfelt protagonist.
