## Synopsis

The Partridge Family (1970-1974) is an American family sitcom created by Bernard Slade for ABC. Shirley Jones plays Shirley Partridge, a widowed mother who guides her five children through a music career, with David Cassidy as the teen heartthrob Keith, Susan Dey as the thoughtful Laurie, and Danny Bonaduce as the mischievous Danny. Dave Madden plays Reuben Kincaid, the manager who keeps the family on the road and in the recording studio. The engine of each episode is simple: the family wants a break, a gig, or a hit record, and the everyday obstacles of a large household, a stubborn manager, and overeager fans get in the way. Each half-hour episode is built around rehearsals, studio sessions, and a musical performance that lands the family in a comic jam before the closing number. Across four seasons the format stays consistent and light, a bright, sentimental family comedy with a seventies pop soundtrack. Fans of The Brady Bunch and The Monkees will find the same blend of domestic warmth and music-driven fun, and the show makes an easy, gentle watch for families and sitcom lovers alike.
