## Synopsis

Beavis and Butt-Head (1993-2011) is an American adult animated comedy series created by Mike Judge for MTV. Mike Judge also voices both title characters, two dimwitted teenagers who sprawl on a couch riffing on television, heavy-metal music videos and nachos while hunting for girls to score with. Their idle commentary is the engine of most episodes, and the chaos spills out into their attempts to chat up cashiers at the local convenience store, their neglect of school, and their disastrous shifts at a burger joint. Adam Welsh voices Stewart, the fast-food manager whose patience is their constant antagonist. The show runs eight seasons across more than two hundred short episodes of roughly eleven minutes each, so it works as a loose, episodic string of sketches rather than one continuing plot. It is set in 1990s Texas suburbia and mirrors the youth culture of its moment with deadpan, irreverent satire. Its tone is crude, gleefully stupid and sardonic, with an undercurrent of teenage boredom. Fans of South Park, Daria and King of the Hill will find the same skewering of American pop culture and adolescent idiocy here.
