## Synopsis

Therapy (2023) is a German prestige psychological thriller miniseries created by Alexander M. Rümelin and distributed on Prime Video, adapted from the novel by Sebastian Fitzek. The six-episode limited series follows Dr. Viktor Larenz (Stephan Kampwirth), a well-known psychiatrist whose thirteen-year-old daughter Josy (Helena Zengel) vanished without a witness, a trace, or a body. Two years on, a mysterious woman appears and forces him to face the disappearance again, pressing him toward his own psychological limits. Around him move colleagues and family figures, including fellow doctor Martin Roth (Trystan Pütter), Anna Spiegel (Emma Bading), and his wife Isabell Larenz (Andrea Osvárt), whose loyalties and memories become harder to trust as the pressure mounts. Each episode runs close to fifty minutes and stays tightly focused on conversation, confrontation, and the slow erosion of a man's certainty about what he knows. The mood is cold, anxious, and paranoid, with dread gathering in quiet rooms rather than action set pieces. Fans of Dark, The Leftovers, and Shutter Island will find resonance in its grief-soaked unease and its questions about memory and guilt.
