## Synopsis

Mayfair Witches (2023-2025) is an American supernatural drama series created by Esta Spalding and Michelle Ashford for AMC, adapted from the novels of Anne Rice. Across two seasons and twenty-four episodes, intuitive neurosurgeon Dr. Rowan Fielding (Alexandra Daddario) discovers she is the unlikely heir to the Mayfair witch family and must grapple with her emerging powers. Her journey is shadowed by Cortland Mayfair (Harry Hamlin), who presides over the family's dynastic secrets, and by Ciprien 'Sip' Grieve (Tongayi Chirisa), a figure drawn into the family's orbit. Their world is steeped in a sinister ancestral presence that has haunted the bloodline for generations, and the episodes unfold through slow, brooding scenes of ritual, inheritance and unsettling visions. The atmosphere is gothic and oppressive, with a moody, rain-tinged New Orleans backdrop and an emphasis on family secrets over jump-scare horror. Viewers who enjoy the bloodline intrigue of Salem and the atmospheric dread of Penny Dreadful will find a similar pull, though the series leans more toward melodrama than outright terror. Set in the present day, it is a moody, adult-oriented take on witchcraft and inheritance.
