## Synopsis

Liar Game (2007-2010) is a Japanese psychological thriller series created for Fuji TV, adapted from the manga of the same name. College student Nao Kanzaki (Erika Toda), famed for her honesty and naivete, receives a black postcard inviting her into the secret Liar Game Tournament, where a box holding 100 million yen is the stake. Her goal in each round is to trick a rival player out of their money, while the loser owes an organization that will collect the debt by any means. Nao is joined and tested by principal figures including the calculating Shin'ichi Akiyama (Shota Matsuda) and the imposing Eri Samukukwon (Michiko Kichise), each round a fresh contest of bluff, alliance, and betrayal. The series spans two seasons across 20 episodes, with each game unfolding in tense, dialogue-driven confrontations. Its mood is intense and paranoid, with a steady undercurrent of dread and moral unease. Fans of Battle Royale, Alice in Borderland and Death Note will find resonance in its cutthroat strategy and psychological mind games.
