## Synopsis

Victoria (2007-2008) is a Colombian and American Spanish-language telenovela created by Hugo León Ferrer and Jimena Romero for Telemundo. Victoria Ruffo plays Victoria, a woman whose marriage collapses around her just as she falls for a dashing younger man, Mauricio Ochmann's Jerónimo Acosta. Arturo Peniche's Enrique Mendoza, Andrea López's Tatiana López De Mendoza and Roberto Manrique's Sebastian Villanueva orbit her in a web of loyalty, rivalry and hidden allegiances. The engine of the series is the push and pull between a woman's desire for a second chance at love and the social and family pressures that punish her for wanting it. Each of its 171 episodes advances the romantic and domestic entanglements through confrontations, reconciliations and sharp reversals of fortune typical of the form. Shaped as a single, complete run of 171 episodes, it unfolds as one continuous story rather than a series of standalone cases. The atmosphere is lush and emotionally heightened, with dramatic close-ups, swelling sorrow and passion that fans of Rubí, La Usurpadora and Dynasty will find familiar. Set in a contemporary Latin American milieu of wealthy households and boardroom ambition, it delivers the sincere, sweeping melodrama that defines the telenovela tradition.
