## Synopsis

Operation Love (2007) is a Japanese television romantic comedy series created for Fuji TV. Ken Iwase (Tomohisa Yamashita) watches helplessly as his childhood love Rei Yoshida (Masami Nagasawa) marries another man, because he never found the courage to confess. Time stops, and a mysterious angel offers him the chance to start over and rewind to the past. Each attempt to change the outcome pits his determination against a stubborn sense that fate refuses to bend, so the comedy comes from awkward schemes and near misses. Friends and rivals around him, including Eri Oku (Nana Eikura), Tetsuya Tada (Naohito Fujiki) and Mikio Enokido (Yuta Hiraoka), add warmth and mischief to the romantic chase. The eleven-episode run is a single continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format, and its tone blends gentle humor with the ache of regret and the hope of a second chance. Set in contemporary Japan, it feels like a light, sincere take on fans of About Time and Kimi ni Todoke will find resonance in its romantic heart and bittersweet undertow.
