## Synopsis

Violet like the sea (2022-present) is an Italian crime drama series created by Francesco Vicario, Francesco Arlanch, Elena Bucaccio and Silvia Leuzzi for Canale 5 and BluTV. Francesca Chillemi plays Viola Vitale, a former Miss Italy and fashion journalist who returns to Sicily determined to find her missing father. Her search draws her into a working relationship with police inspector Francesco Demir, played by Can Yaman, and together they pursue criminal cases. Viola takes a job at a digital news company, and her synesthesia lets her perceive clues in unusual ways, giving each investigation a distinctive sensory angle. The series unfolds as a serialized mystery across two seasons of twelve episodes each, with the crimes investigated in a case-driven rhythm while the personal thread about her father runs underneath. Its setting is the sun-drenched island of Sicily, where warm coastal light contrasts with darker secrets. The tone is glossy and romantic, with a light, engaging feel and a sharp sense of place. Fans of Montalbano, Castle and Lucifer will find resonance in its blend of crime solving, charismatic leads and a sparkling Mediterranean atmosphere.
