## Synopsis

Never Give Up (2023) is a Brazilian telenovela-style romantic comedy created by Rosane Svartman for TV Globo, a single-season run of 179 episodes. Ssolange, called Sol (Sheron Menezzes), is a hardworking woman offered a job as a backing vocalist for a funk singer, a chance to return to the dancing she loved in her youth. Torn between pressure from her family and the passion that pulls her back to the stage, she must face the judgment of her church community and the conflicts it stirs at home. The new job brings her back into contact with her past, including her great youth love, and the reunion complicates every choice. Supporting principals include Samuel de Assis as Benjamim (Ben), José Loreto as Lui Lorenzo, Emílio Dantas as Theo, and Renata Sorrah as Wilma. Each episode builds through musical numbers, romantic misunderstandings and family confrontations, set against the contemporary funk scene of Brazil. The tone is warm, sincere and buoyant, with a melodramatic heart and a strong sense of self-reinvention. Fans of Avenida Brasil and Flashdance will find resonance in its blend of telenovela melodrama, music and a heroine chasing her dream.
