## Synopsis

In Treatment (2008-2021) is a United States prestige cable drama series created by Rodrigo García for HBO. Gabriel Byrne plays psychotherapist Dr. Paul Weston, a Brooklyn therapist whose carefully bounded practice is the engine of the show, while Uzo Aduba plays Dr. Brooke Taylor, a colleague whose own sessions and perspective add a second thread. Each episode unfolds almost entirely within the confines of a therapy room, as Paul listens to patients confess fears, grief, and desire, and as the boundary between his professional composure and his private life steadily wears thin. The show runs across four seasons and 130 episodes, with each season built from unhurried, dialogue-heavy sessions rather than external plot. The tone is intimate, contemplative, and quietly devastating, with a restrained visual palette and an emphasis on silence, pauses, and emotional honesty. Fans of The Sopranos and In Therapy will find resonance in its psychological depth and character-driven drama, and its portrait of a healer who needs healing will appeal to viewers who want talk-driven television with real emotional weight.
