## Synopsis

Land of Desire (Terra e Paixão) (2023-2024) is a Brazilian telenovela created by Walcyr Carrasco for TV Globo. Barbara Reis plays Aline Barroso Machado, a widow who takes over cultivating her murdered husband's land in the Brazilian interior while protecting his family. Her engine is a double struggle: keeping possession of her property against Tony Ramos's Antônio La Selva, the largest landowner in the region and the man responsible for her husband's death, and resisting a pull toward Daniel, the son of her rival. Cauã Reymond plays Caio, Daniel's rebellious half-brother, who also falls for Aline, so the romance becomes a rivalry inside the feuding clan. Each episode is built from land disputes, schemes, confrontations between the La Selva family and their rivals, and the shifting loyalties of a household at war with itself. Glória Pires and Eliane Giardini add weight as formidable matriarchs guarding the family's power. Delivered as a single long-running serial of 221 episodes, the show has the sweeping, emotionally heightened register of classic Brazilian soap opera, with melodrama, betrayal and passion driving its arc. Fans of Pantanal and A Terra Prometida, along with the glossy feuding-dynasty appeal of Dallas, will find resonance here.
