## Synopsis

House of Ninjas (2024) is a Japanese action drama miniseries created by Dave Boyle for Netflix. Haru Tawara (Kento Kaku) leads a dysfunctional ninja family that has long since retired from its formidable old lives, and when a string of looming threats arrives, its members must return to shadowy missions. Soichi Tawara (Yosuke Eguchi) and Yoko Tawara (Tae Kimura) anchor the household, while Gaku Tawara (Kengo Kora) and Nagi Tawara (Aju Makita) bring sibling rivalry into every operation. The engine of the show is the friction between ordinary family life and the demands of covert work, with each episode mixing domestic squabbles with covert fights and undercover infiltration. Across eight episodes of roughly fifty-three minutes, it plays as one continuing story rather than a case-of-the-week format. Its tone is mostly grounded and dry, with action punctuating a family drama that leans on generational conflict and old loyalties. Viewers who enjoy The Americans and Killing Eve for their blend of espionage and domestic tension will find a similar pull here, though the emphasis is on family rather than spycraft. The result is a moody, slow-building Netflix miniseries set in contemporary Japan.
