## Synopsis

The Walking Dead (2010-2022) is an American cable horror drama series created by Frank Darabont for AMC. Sheriff's deputy Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) wakes from a coma to find a post-apocalyptic America overrun by flesh-eating walkers, and he sets out to find his wife and son. Along the way he gathers a band of survivors that includes Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus), Maggie Greene (Lauren Cohan) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), each navigating scarcity, grief and mounting threats. The engine of the show is simple and relentless: every season pits the group against new dangers, whether roaming herds, rival settlements or human predators, while they try to build a home that can last. Its episodes are built around scavenging runs, tense standoffs and brutal confrontations, and its eleven seasons form one continuing serialized saga. Set in a rural Georgia and then across a ruined landscape, the series moves through grim, gore-soaked horror and quieter stretches of communal drama. Its tone is bleak yet strangely humane, with dread, paranoia and moments of hard-won hope. Fans of Fear the Walking Dead, Snowpiercer and Z Nation will find similar survival stakes and zombie horror.
