## Synopsis

The Playlist (2022) is a British television limited series created for Netflix, a six-episode dramatization of the founding of Spotify. Swedish tech entrepreneur Daniel Ek (Edvin Endre) and his business partner Martin Lorentzon (Christian Hillborg) push to turn a bold idea into a service that offers free, legal music streaming to a world used to piracy. Their story is one of ambition pressed against the resistance of an entrenched music industry, with record label negotiations, funding gambles, and the constant risk of collapse driving each episode. Petra Hansson (Gizem Erdogan) and Per Sundin (Ulf Stenberg) add the pressure of business allies and rivals who see the venture from different angles. Each installment moves briskly through meetings, deals, and high-stakes decisions, grounded in the restless energy of a startup racing to change an industry. The tone is driven and optimistic, with a current of tension about whether the audacious plan can survive. Fans of The Social Network and Super Pumped will find resonance in its portrait of tech ambition, rivalry, and the price of disruption. Produced by Yellow Bird UK, it is a compact, character-focused portrait of a company that reshaped how the world listens.
