## Synopsis

Chuck (2007-2012) is an American network spy comedy created by Josh Schwartz for NBC. Zachary Levi plays Chuck Bartowski, a affable electronics store employee at the Buy More who unwittingly downloads a database of classified government secrets into his brain. Two CIA agents are assigned to protect him: Yvonne Strahovski plays Sarah Walker, and Adam Baldwin plays the gruff John Casey. Their handler and the wider store staff, including Joshua Gomez as Morgan Grimes, keep the everyday life of the retail job in constant collision with dangerous missions. The engine of the series is Chuck's struggle to keep a normal life, his friendships and his budding romance with Sarah intact while being trained into a field operative. Each season moves through a continuing story arc, mixing standalone case-of-the-week missions with longer threads about the secret database and the agencies hunting it. The five-season run gives the story room to grow from a sitcom-style workplace comedy into a heartfelt action romance. The tone is breezy, witty and sincere, with comic set pieces and warm emotional beats. Fans of Burn Notice, Alias and Covert Affairs will find the same blend of espionage, banter and romantic tension.
