## Synopsis

Revenant (2023) is a South Korean supernatural horror mystery series created by Lee Jeong-lim, Lee Ok-gyu and Kim Eun-hee for SBS. Kim Tae-ri stars as Gu San-yeong, a woman possessed by an evil spirit, opposite Oh Jung-se as Yeom Hae-sang, a man who can see evil spirits. Together they chase the truth behind a run of mysterious deaths linked to five restless spirits, each uncovered through a self-contained case that feeds a larger hidden story. The engine is investigation under constant threat: every clue draws them closer to the forces that have claimed their own lives and bodies. Across a single twelve-episode season, the show alternates eerie standalone tales with a steadily tightening mythology. Its tone is unsettling and atmospheric, with folk-belief dread, quiet grief and bursts of psychological horror. Rooted in Korean shamanic tradition, it plays like a folk horror thriller with the restraint of a mystery. Fans of Hellbound, Kingdom and The Ring will find resonance in its blend of ghostly menace and procedural puzzle-solving. Its strong ensemble and careful pacing make it a rewarding, engrossing watch for patient viewers.
