## Synopsis

Harlan Coben's Shelter (2023) is an American mystery thriller series created by Charlotte Coben and Harlan Coben for Prime Video, adapted from a novel. Jaden Michael plays Mickey Bolitar, a teenager who starts over in a suburban New Jersey town after the death of his father. Constance Zimmer plays his mother Shira Bolitar, while Adrian Greensmith and Abby Corrigan play Arthur Spoon Spindell and Ema Winslow, two new friends who join him. When another new student disappears, Mickey is drawn into a tangle of secrets, and the single season moves through a steady run of clues, suspicious adults and hidden connections. The engine of the show is the search for answers beneath an ordinary-looking town, where a dark underground may hold the key to decades of missing people. The eight-episode season is one continuing story with a case built across its runtime rather than standalone episodes. Its tone is suspenseful and youthful, with a sense of grief running under the investigation and a found family forming among the outsiders. Fans of The Society, Harlan Coben's Fool Me Once and Stranger Things will find a kindred pull toward teen sleuthing, suburban unease and buried mysteries. Set in contemporary suburban America, it mixes thriller momentum with the emotional texture of a young man trying to rebuild his life.
