## Synopsis

Lookism (2022) is a South Korean animated comedy drama series created by Studio Mir for Netflix, adapted from the popular Korean webtoon by Park Tae-joon. It follows Park Hyung Seok, a bullied high school outcast who wakes up each day in a second body, the handsome, athletic version of himself, and must navigate two social worlds at once. The voice cast includes Shim Kyu-hyuck as Park Hyung Seok in his small body and Han Shin as the same character in his big body, with Ryu Seung-gone voicing Lee Jin Seong and Jeong Jae-heon voicing Vasco. The engine of the show is simple and sharp: he wants to be seen for who he is, and each episode is built from school hierarchies, fistfights, friendships formed in one body and tested in the other, and the cruelty of a society that rewards looks. Its eight episodes form one continuing story arc in a contemporary Korean high school setting, a short, serialized run that moves at a brisk pace. The tone shifts between slapstick irreverence and darker, harrowing moments of bullying and violence. Fans of Ugly Betty, The Glory and All of Us Are Dead will find resonance in its satire of appearance-based status, its teenage power struggles, and its unflinching look at social cruelty.
