## Synopsis

Belgravia: The Next Chapter (2024) is a British-style period drama and costume romance series created by Helen Edmundson and broadcast on MGM+. Set in 1871 London, it follows Lord Frederick Trenchard (Benjamin Wainwright) and Clara Dunn (Harriet Slater), whose passionate courtship turns into a fragile marriage once the scandalous world of high society closes in around them. Doctor Stephen Ellerby (Edward Bluemel) and the Marquise d'Etagnac (Claude Perron) move through the same glittering and gossip-filled circles, while Sophie Thompson plays Mrs Dunn, whose presence keeps an old family past within reach. The engine of the story is the couple's struggle to protect their happiness while a long-buried secret pushes toward the surface, and each of its eight 48-minute episodes unfolds through drawing room intrigue, dinner party maneuvering, and quiet confrontations behind closed doors. The series is a single self-contained season, a limited run told as one continuing story. Its tone is romantic yet tense, with a wistful, elegant atmosphere and a melancholic undercurrent. Fans of Downton Abbey, Gosford Park and Bridgerton will find resonance in its blend of lavish period detail, class constraints and love tested by secrets.
