## Synopsis

The First Responders (2022-2023) is a South Korean crime drama created by Min Ji-eun for SBS, running two seasons and twenty-four episodes across a 65-minute format. Adjoining police and fire stations cooperate on the most brutal and tragic cases, following a team that includes Jin Ho-gae (Kim Rae-won), Bong Do-jin (Son Ho-jun), Song Seol (Gong Seung-yeon) and Yun Hong (Son Ji-yoon). Each episode is built around a fresh emergency, from fires and rescues to criminal investigations involving missing children, forensic clues and corrupt officials, with the stations sharing resources and pressure as the stakes escalate. The engine is the crew's determination to beat each disaster before it claims more lives, measured against the logistical friction between two institutions that must trust each other. The format is an accessible episodic procedural with light continuity across its run, giving it a straightforward, easy-viewing rhythm. Set in contemporary urban South Korea, the series carries a gritty, earnest tone punctuated by action set pieces and tragedy. Its tone and format will appeal to viewers who enjoy Korean crime television, and fans of Chicago Fire and Chicago P.D. will find familiar resonance in its blend of rescue action and investigative drama.
