## Synopsis

Secret Diary of a Call Girl (2007-2011) is a British adult comedy drama series created by Lucy Prebble for ITV2, with a US run on Showtime. Billie Piper stars as Hannah Baxter, a high-class London escort who goes by Belle, with Iddo Goldberg as Ben and Ashley Madekwe as fellow working girl Gloria Bambi White among the principal figures. The engine of the show is Belle's balancing act: she must keep her professional persona polished for wealthy clients with elaborate fantasies while protecting a private life that keeps leaking into her work. Each episode unfolds as a witty, frank sequence of client encounters, business negotiations and sharp direct-address commentary, and the four seasons form one continuing story rather than standalone cases. The setting is contemporary London, rendered in glossy, stylish interiors that hide the hard economics beneath them. Its tone is cheeky, sardonic and candid, with a sincere undercurrent about performed intimacy and the cost of selling it. Viewers who enjoy Fleabag, Sex and the City and Hung will find a similar mix of frank sexuality, quick wit and a self-aware heroine.
