## Synopsis

Hot Skull (2022) is a Turkish science fiction drama series created by Mert Baykal for Netflix. Osman Sonant plays Murat Siyavuş, the only person immune to an epidemic of madness that spreads through speech, who must leave the safe zone and venture into the ruins of Istanbul to learn why his blood resists the contagion. Hazal Subaşı plays Şule, and Şevket Çoruh plays Anton Kadir Tarakçı, two of the principal figures who shape his journey through a city where ordinary conversation has become a threat. The engine of the story is Murat's search for the secret behind his immunity, a quest that forces him through checkpoints, abandoned streets, and a society tightening its grip under the pressure of crisis. Each hour pushes deeper into the ruins, with gritty, claustrophobic imagery and an uneasy mood of paranoia and dread. Told across a single eight-episode season of about an hour each, the series is a contained, serialized thriller with a mystery at its center. Fans of The Last of Us and Y: The Last Man will find resonance in its contagion-driven collapse and lone survivor, while viewers of Snowpiercer will recognize its authoritarian chill. Set in a near-future Istanbul ravaged by collapse, it is a bleak, tense Netflix original.
