## Synopsis

Killer Sally (2022) is a three-episode American true crime miniseries created for Netflix, built as a documentary docuseries rather than a scripted drama. Its spine is interviews with Sally McNeil herself, her son John Lowden and daughter Shantina Lowden, along with friends such as Peggy Hook and Shannon Brown, and attorneys including former district attorney Dan Goldstein and defense lawyer William Rafael. Their testimony gathers around a bodybuilding couple whose marriage grows rocky inside a world of gyms, competitions and shared ambition. Each episode layers recollection over the tangled domestic life that surrounds the couple, letting contradictory memories pull against one another as the record of the relationship takes shape. The result is a close, unsparing study of intimacy turning dangerous, with a steady tone of grief, unease and moral ambiguity. The structure is a single continuing account rather than a case-of-the-week format, so the three hours accumulate toward a shocking ending. Fans of The Staircase, Making a Murderer and The Jinx will find resonance in its blend of intimate testimony and true crime dread. Its reflective, sober pacing suits viewers who want to understand how an ordinary marriage curdled into violence.
