## Synopsis

I Hate Christmas (Odio il Natale) is an Italian romantic comedy series created by Per-Olav Sørensen for Netflix, airing from 2022 to 2023 across two seasons of twelve half-hour episodes. Pilar Fogliati stars as Gianna, a nurse who is perfectly content being single the rest of the year but is worn down by relatives and coworkers shaming her for spending the holidays alone. On December 1 she vows to find someone to bring home for Christmas, and each episode becomes a comic scramble of blind dates, mismatched suitors and hasty plans. Beatrice Arnera plays her friend Titti, and the ensemble includes Fiorenza Pieri as Margherita and Massimo Rigo as Pietro, whose entanglements keep the search lively. The engine is simple: a deadline, a stubborn single heroine and a city full of awkward encounters. The show is set in a contemporary Italian city during the Christmas season, with a warm, breezy, sardonic tone that leans on romantic misunderstandings rather than darkness. Its mood is sincere and cozy, closer to holiday romcoms of the Love Actually and Bridget Jones tradition than to anything grim. Viewers wanting a light seasonal romance with an Italian flavour will find it easy company.
