## Synopsis

Riding in Darkness (2022) is a Swedish true-story crime drama miniseries created for C More. Across eight episodes of roughly 44 minutes each, the story follows three women, Victoria Lund (Hanna Ardéhn), Lotta Lund (Malin Persson) and Molly Bennett (Saga Samuelsson), whose lives are bound to Tommy Lund (Jonas Karlsson), a man whose hold over them tightens with every scene. The engine is simple and painful: each woman wants to get out from under his control, and every attempt to leave meets a new obstacle of fear, family loyalty and dependence. Episodes are built from intimate domestic pressure points, with supporting figures such as Agnes Lund (Tehilla Blad) and Frida Karlsson (Amanda Jansson) widening the circle around the central trap. The series runs as one continuous story, a single limited season in which the threat accumulates steadily rather than resolving in standalone cases. Set in 1990s Sweden, it keeps a grounded, cold, realistic register, with a psychological thriller atmosphere of dread and claustrophobia. Its emotional tone is heavy and serious, drawing on the coercive-control drama of Big Little Lies and the true-crime unease of The Staircase, for viewers who want a tense, character-led descent rather than action.
